The 2018 BISERGS Awards Celebration took place last night in Monroe, Washington in a fitting conclusion to the greatest BISERGS yet. The evening featured a delicious barbeque prepared by many hands, but BISERGS participants Dan and DJ deserve a special mention for their skills in the kitchen and at the grill. To start the awards off, Derek Samuelson accepted the certificate for highest scoring clan on behalf of his Rick, Katee, Rachel, Ari, Evan and Gray. Next it was Lindsay receiving recognition for her victory in the nephew/niece category followed by Rachel’s win in the ▼1G and Ari in the ▼2G. Kelley was the winner of the Newcomer Award and Carol won the ▲1G, but they were unable to attend. Dawn Rutz collected a certificate for finishing Runner Up this summer, but the big moment was when Rick was officially recognized as the Biggest International Soccer Expert Related to Greg Samuelson for 2018 and received his certificate and copy of the Encyclopedia Blazertannica. There wasn’t a dry eye on Bill and Cookie’s deck as Rick was visibly moved by emotions while receiving his prize.
