Lindsay Leads the Way Across BISERGS Milestone

Lindsay Rutz sent in her draft order preferences last night pushing us over the 50% response rate line with draft day looming.  Most World Cup pundits agree that this year's tournament doesn't have a clear cut favorite, and the early BISERGS returns echo that sentiment with an amazing range in the picks.  Of the 19 preference lists received there are seven different number one picks and fifteen of the 32 World Cup teams appear as a top three choice.  Not only is that a startling level of diversity, it also makes it more likely that  BISERGSers will get their preferred teams to support throughout the World Cup. Each pick has its own logic and at this moment every selection has an equal chance of being brilliant or disastrous.  Only time will tell who has made the right choices.  As the World Cup gets underway in less than one week (are you as excited as I am?) and the stars of the beautiful game seize the world's brightest sporting spotlight, the intelligence or folly of our BISERGS choices will be revealed.  The only wrong pick at this moment is to not pick at all.  The deadline for getting your picks in is Saturday, June 9th at midnight Pacific Time.  The draft will commence at about 8 am Sunday morning Pacific Time (7 pm here in Abu Dhabi).

This is the first time that a BISERGS competitor has been based in Spain and
the whole nation has been swept up in the BISERGS madness.

In other BISERGS news,  Gray Samuelson, holder of the top position in the BISERGS World Rankings, quietly submitted his picks yesterday.  Several other BISERGS hopefuls are completing their research and promise to submit their responses soon.

Please beware, some of you have entered your names into the draft preference form, but haven't completed your picks.  You can verify that your picks were submitted successfully by checking the 'Draft Order' page of this website.  If your name is bold you are good to go, if not, try again and click all the way through to the end of the survey.  If you can't find the email with the draft link in it, you can follow this link to make your picks.

  1. What? I thought the draft would be broadcast on SATURDAY, not Sunday in the USA.

  2. I think I've been confusing myself and everyone playing by jumping between time zones with the schedule. We'll stick with the original dates as being US times since most people are playing there. If everyone gets their picks in early enough we could start the draft sooner, but it looks like some are waiting until the last minute. Sorry.
